Italy POW - Campo Concentramento P.G. 91 50 Lire ND Campbell 6159. Located in Avezzano, Italy, this POW Camp was administered by Italy until the 1943 Armistice when it is believed control was returned to German forces. This About Uncirculated yellow and blue 50 Lire note has a stamped Camp Commandant signature and is also stamped CANCELLED on both sides, suggesting that this example was voided upon liberation by Allied forces. Campbell believes that this variety was, in fact, a genuine issue of the camp rather than a fantasy.
