1951, A complete set of banknotes of a POW camp in Yugoslavia, Germany and Croatia, who worked in factories of the industry under forced labor in the Zeimon camp near Belgrade. This was a concentration camp for prisoners of war. The notes were for use only in the canteen and for the prisoners in the camp. In an almost entirely new situation. The Mizrahi Bank was the first major Jewish bank to open in Palestine. The offered bond represented a share of ownership in the bank when it was first founded in Jerusalem in 1924 (25 years before the State of Israel was founded)!!!

The bank was a direct offshoot of the religious Zionist organization known as The Mizrachi founded in 1902 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Today it is the 4th largest bank in Israel and its top mortgage lender. See history below.

Exquisitely engraved with Judaic script and imagery in blue and dark beige on buff paper, the bond measures an enormous 8.5" x 13.5".  It has a red embossed seal with the Star of David and remains 100% UNCANCELLED without punch holes, pinholes, pen marks or rubber stamps.
