1934 Rome-Buenos Aires overprints, complete set used with additional franking on registered and flown cover from Milllesimo (Savona) (22.1.34) to Buenos Aires, framed "Transported by Courtesy Pan-American Airways System Fortaleza-Buenos Aires" cachet and appropriate transit and arrival pmks on back, fine cover, signed Diena, also Bolaffi, with 1982 certificate (The Rome-Buenos Aires mail flight, Francesco Lombardi, Branco Mazzotti and three others were attempting an experimental mail-carrying flight from Rome to Buenos Aires in three days, crashed on a beach twelve miles south of Fortaleza, Brazil, after having made a fine Atlantic crossing in fourteen hours. The plane was carrying 200 lbs of mail and copies of a souvenir edition of a newspaper, flew to Dakar, Senegal, by way of Casablanca, Agadir and Thies.
