 Lot 1429 - Overseas imperial china - Corinphila Auction AG Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 51878/1939: Collection beginning with three large dragons, including a 1878 thin paper 1ca green fine unused no gum, a very good range small dragons mostly used, 1897 Dowager Empress with new currency overprint predominantly used with values to 30c. Later issues include the Curtis Jenny airplane issue 1921, 1932 North West Scientific Expedition unused and a range of other values. The quality needs to be looked at with a cautious eye, there are also some forgeries noted, overall a well worthwhile lot with many really good stamps. The postcard of a corporal of the 'Gesandschaftsschutzwache' (guard of the embassy) mailed in PEKING on October 16, 1903, reached "SHANGHAI on October 23, and was postmarked by the Russian Post Office the same day.
