French stamps (foreign registered letter rate) with linear "POSTES SERBES" and posted from "MINISTARSKA*19.1.1917" with Serbian censorship "CENSURE/MILITAIRE SERBE" in violet and French censorship "OUVERT par lAUTORITE*303" and "309", via "MARSEILLE*23-2 17", arr. "WEESEN*2.III.17". Initially the 35c. stamps were sold at the Ministarska office, because it pad the registered letter rate to France. A few days after the introduction of the "POSTES SERBES" handstamp, that rate raised to 40c. It is the scarcest of the stamps regularly found used from this office. A.
