Lightest vertical file fold not destracting from the fresh and very rare usage of this adhesive, an entire of the Faranga correspondence, ex collection Keith Tranmer Mi = € 2'200.

Danube Steam Navigation Co, incoming mail to Romania 1863 (March 16): Unpaid Entire letter from Manchester to Galatz, endorsed "Via Paris, Vienna & Basiasch", struck on obverse with despatch and French "ANGL. 17 MARS 63 CALAIS" entry cds's. It received on reverse LONDON and WIEN transit as well as "GALLATZ 28 / 3" arrival cds in blue of the consular PO (Tchilinghirian fig. 743).rnNote: The cover was tranported to Baziasch nearby the border to Vallachia with the train, thereafter with the DDSG to Gallatz where it was given to the consular post office.

A very fine strike of a very scarce marking. Signed A. Diena.rnNote: The dash within the number suggests that this number is not the number of the vessel or the trip but a date. Thus, this stamp was used on October 1st.

Vertical file fold well away from the adhesive, some blunted perfs, of no importance for this interesting cover.rnNote: After the closure of all Austrian / Hungarian offices at the end of March 1869 and in order to avoid any Romanian postage, mail could obviously be given directly to the DDSG administration.
