Lithographed 5 c. dull red brown with lithographic transfer flaw "POPIE" instead of "PORTE", good to large margins, tied by target to lettersheet with somewhat faint "VALPARAISO 4 NOBE 54", two Santiago. The entire light age wear, still fine and very rare.

5 c. deep chocolate brown, horizontal pair, the left stamp just clear at top, otherwise good to very large margins with parts of two neighbours stamps at left, tied by seven bars target to lettersheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 31 JULIO 55" to Valparaiso. Very fine and extremely rare. We have just one further such franking recorded.

10 c. deep bright blue on yellowish paper, two single copies, one with four large margins, the other with three large margins and just touched at right, tied by red target to entire letter with adjacent red "BALLENAR", two Valparaiso, carried on PSNC Steamer, endorsed 'per N. Granada' at lower left. A remarkable and very rare usage. Certificate BPA (1992). (Scott 2)

5 c deep reddish brown and 10 c slate blue in horizontal pair, all with good to mostly large margins, tied to lettersheet from "CONCEPTION 14 DECB 54" to Valparaiso. 5 c. red-brown with just shaved to large margins, tied to part paid entire letter from "SANTIAGO14 MARZO 55" to Bordeaux, endorsed "Par voie de Panama et d'Angleterre"; adjacent "PANAMA / TRANSIT" in red and on reverse London transit mark.in red. Charged '21' décimes handstruck in black; tariff of  August 1849 for a single letter. Fine and rare usage of this early issue on an entire to Europe. 10 c. deep bright blue on yellowish paper, four single examples with generally large margins (two spots tiny touched), cancelled by target, on 2nd rate letter sheet with part of content, with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 6 ABRIL 54" to Valparaiso. Very fine and attractive. The largest recorded franking of the 1853 10 centavos on letter. Signed A. Diena.(Scott 2)
