1880/83: Great Britain ½ d. slate, 2 d. rose and three 2½ d. lilac, all used on registered 1884 cover to Mauritius paying the 10 d. rate for under 1 ounce and 2 d. registration, tied by "C" obliterators in black with "British Post Office / Constantinople" cds in red below (Aug 16). Mailed via London (Aug 20) with "Registered / Mauritius" arrival also on obverse (Sept 23). Peripheral toning but a rare rate and destination.

Beirut Provisional 1906 (July 2): Great Britain 2 d. grey-green & carmine on ordinary paper, overprinted LEVANT and further surcharged "1 Piastre" locally by the American Press, an unused example of good colour, fresh and fine, large part og. A very rare stamp unused with just 600 stamps surcharged. Cert. BPA (2022) Gi = £ 1'500.

Brtitish Levant 1854/1913: The collection with 1854/55 group of three 1 d. reds used in the Crimea, GB 10 d. red brown vertical pair cancelled "F87" of Smyrna in black, 1885/88 12 pi. on 2 s. 6 d. lilac unused and used, 1893 40 pa. on Jubilee ½ d. vermilion with "Overprint Inverted" variety used (certs. RPSL,1906 (signed E. Denny Bacon) and BPA 2001) and three 'normals' each on small piece, Beyrout Provisional 2 d. grey-green & carmine used on small piece cancelled by oval "Registered / Beyrout" datestamp (genuine but with repaired tear at lower right), 1909/10 group of nine values overprinted by hooded SPECIMEN, 1911/12 1 pi. on 2½ d. blue (shades) unused (7) with differing perfs., 1921 Seahorse unused set of three with 10 s. showing "Surcharge Double, One Albino" variety (cert. BPA) and "MEF" George VI 5 s. red and 10 s. ultramarine optd. SPECIMEN etc. Condition varies but many scarce noted (34 items).rnrnrnrn

1892/1922: Collection British Offices consisting of forty entires, of which twenty-six are used, including several forerunners containing letter to a Madame Siemens, sent by the Ottoman Railway Company and a Postcard to Manchester with a tied Hotel labels serving dependent on the clientele as "Royal Hotel" or "Berliner Hof". Other Destinations include the United States with a fine postage due and France. Lovely lot.

Crimean War 1855: Great Britain 2 d. blue, wmk. Small Crown, perf. 16, three examples (lettered CJ, DJ-DK) used on 1855 cover to Salisbury, endorsed "From the Black Sea Fleet" and "Via Marseilles", tied by "O*O" obliterators in black. Reverse with POST OFFICE / BRITISH ARMY" cds (Nov 15) in red and London (Nov 27) and Salisbury cds's. An attractive and scarce cover.

(Gi = £ 225), 1902 80 pa. on 5 d. dull purple & ultramarine with "Small in 80" variety fine used (Gi = £ 200), 1913 1¾ pi. on 4 d. deep grey-green an unused strip of three, first stamp with "Small pointed 4" variety (Gi = £ 50+), together with 1902/3 hooded SPECIMEN set of three (Gi = £ 160), 1921 1 s. bistre-bistre in a horizontal pair and Seahorse 2 s. 6 d. brown optd. SPECIMEN (Gi = £ 300), generally fine, a scarce group.

1885/88: Surcharged 40 paras on Great Britain 2½ d. purple on blue, an unused example variety "Surcharge Double", colour slightly faded but extremely rare - unlisted by Stanley Gibbons - large part og. Cert. RPSL (1973).rnNote: Surcharged in a horizontal Setting of eight clichés, three show a small 'S' in PARAS. The stamp offered above has one surcharge with large 'S' and one with the small 'S'.rn

Reverse with repairable flap tear showing "POST OFFICE / BRITISH ARMY" code B cds in blue (Oct 23), and London and Dorking (Nov 7) datestamps.
