18 Kreuzer orange-red and 9 Kreuzer ochre-brown in mixed franking with coat of arms issue 3 Kreuzer rose, with open Mühlrad-cancel "325" on registered mourning envelope of 2nd weight class with reverse black lacquer seals of the court secretariat of Ludwig II and adjacent red five-line cancellation "MÜNCHEN Chargé 13/3 (11)" to the mayor of Nice with transit and arrival cds. The 18 cross stamp was originally slightly touched at base, optically corrected here after attestation, otherwise all values with full to large margins and perfect. A scarce and also historically interesting letter, posted 2 weeks after the death of King Louis I in Nice, and undoubtedly directly related to this event. Certificate Brettl BPP (1996)

18 Kreuzer yellow-orange, fresh colours and full to mostly large margins, with neatly applied DKr. "NÜRNBERG 28 NOV 1856" (somewhat repainted) on complete folded cover to France. The stamp (postage stamp) was detached, otherwise perfect. An extraordinarily scarce cover of the exchange period; we have not registered any other 18 Kreuzer single franking from this period. 18 Mühlrad-cancel vermilion, very attractive fresh colours, at bottom bayernbrüchig and thus partly just touched at base, otherwise large margins, laterally with full intermediate lines, with clearly closed Mühlrad-cancel "145" and neatly adjacent semicircle "FUERTH 13 8" (1866) on cover via Belgium to London, after this routing was possible again after the Preliminary Peace of Nikolsburg on 26 July 1866. 6 Kreuzer blue, horizontal strip of 3 with long pre-cut between the two right values, fresh colours and full to large margins (above right somewhat bayernbrüchig), with closed Mühlrad-cancel "418" on envelope from "REGENSBURG 13 JUL 1866" via France, with front and reverse transit postmark, to London, with arrival datestamp of 16 July. According to the decree of 7 July 1866, all mail to Great Britain was to be routed via France due to the war; this applied until 26 July. An attractive and scarce letter with war-related diversion.

1866, envelope from Vienna to Rome. Due to the war, transport via Austria was not possible; on the reverse, the postal clerk calculated the postage via France (101 kreuzer) resp. via Switzerland (70 kreuzer) and noted "Via France" on face, with the red transit postmark of Strasbourg next to it. The letter is franked with 1863/64, 2 Kr. yellow and 6 pieces of 15 Kr. brown, three wide 3Kr. green were replaced (cancellation repainted here). Despite the addition, a very interesting and extremely scarce letter.
