horizontal pair, margins large to barely touching at lower right (portion of adjacent stamp at left), tied to 1849 folded letter sheet to Philadelphia by three strikes of blue "10" in oval, matching "Baltimore May 11" datestamp at left, delivered to New York by mistake where red "Missent" and "Forwarded" straightline handstamps were applied along with a "New-York May 12" datestamp, right stamp tiny corner crease, extremely fine, a beautiful and desirable example of auxiliary markings on an 1847 issue cover, ex-Newell, 1985 and 2006 Philatelic Foundation certificates

2, 1847 10c Black, two singles on double rate cover to Indianapolis, Indiana, right slightly overlaps left, margins large to just grazing frameline (right stamp portion of adjacent stamp), each with neat manuscript "X", red "Boston Ms. Ship Feb 12" datestamp and matching "2" struck twice, manuscript "British Museum" at bottom left repeated in 1849 docketing, small tears at top and bottom and wax seal cut out from back, stamps lifted and put back slightly inaccurately (pictured in its original form in Asbrook Bound Book 7b, page 2), very fine appearance, 2022 Philatelic Foundation certificate

1a, 1847 5c Dark brown, left margin single tied by boxed "Troy & New York Steam Boat" cancel, matching "2cts." in double-line circle, on July, 1849 folded letter from New York to Troy, manuscript "Paid" at top right, vertical file crease well away from stamp, a lovely stamp with an extremely fine strike of this early Hudson River marking, the 2c was charged by the Troy postmaster (for further discussion see Daniel J. Ryterband's "Early Steamboat Mail on New York Waterways", Chronicle 263), 2022 Philatelic Foundation certificate
