There are 5324 lots catering for all types of collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. There are many desirable single items as well as collections and mixed lots. Items range from $30 to $70,000 so there's something for everybody. 

This catalogue contains a great selection of Australian coins including Australian Shipwrecks, Adelaide Pounds , Dumps , Proclamation coins, Gold Sovereigns and Half-Sovereigns, pre-decimal coins and Proofs, A major collection of Error Coins, RAM , Perth Mint and NPA products. There are many highlights in the Australian Coins including Five Australian 1930 Pennies. First three are graded in gF/VF and the other s are F/VF and VG/VF and are Reserved at $17,000 ,16,000 , $16,000, $12,000 and $11,000 respectively (Lots 6217,6218,6219, 6220 and 6221). This auction also includes a two Adelaide Assay Office Type II Coins and are Reserved at $14,000 and $8,500 (Lots 5624 and 5625). Also a major collection of Australian Error coins and Varieties (Lots 6565 - 6651) with the highlights being a 20c 1978 Mule struck with a Fiji 20c reverse. Specimen like UNC. A similar coin sold for $18000+ comm in a Nobles March 1915 auction. Excessively Rare with only 2? Known (Lot 6622), a 50c Mule with Australian reverse & 50c Fiji reverse. Another mule exists with Fiji 50c reverse & Australian 1978 dated reverse. Practically UNC. Excessively Rare if not Unique (Lot 6641) and the 50c Undated Unissued Pattern Trial, Parliament House reverse, ACT Coat of Arms obverse. aU. Extremely Rare. In the Australian Banknotes section includes Pre-Federation, Pre-decimal, Specimens, Decimal, Starnotes, Hay Internment Camp Notes, Varieties and much more. This auction includes the very rare £20, £50 and £100 Cerutty-Collin Banknotes. (Lots 7614,7615 and 7616), Reserved at $25,000, $25,000 and $45,000 respectively. Also in the Australian Section - Australian Specimen a $100 Johnston-Stone Type 4 opt Specimen Banknote (Lot 7630) Reserve $8,000. 

Great range of World coins and banknotes, including Gold, silver and copper coins, medals and World Banknotes . In the World Gold Coins is a German East Africa 1916T Wilhelm II 15 Rupien Elephant near EF, KM-162 Very Scarce (lot 8078) Reserve $3,200. Also in the world banknote section is a Papua New Guinea Samarai British New Guinea £5 ND (1897) at Burns, Philip & Co Ltd in Queensland, British New Guinea & Sydney. Uniface, no number, unsigned & undated. Printed in blue, light pink underprint. Imprint W.E. Smith Sydney. Unissued. Ex Burns Philp Archive. MACFARLANE, LIEUT, FLEURBAIX, 16TH SEPT '16'; 1914-15 Star impressed officially '2/LIEUT. E.A.C. MACFARLANE, 30/BN. AIF.' British War Medal 'CAPTAIN E.A.C. MACFARLANE, AIF.', (also entitled to Victory medal). Edward Albert Charles MacFarlane, born Melbourne 1889, enl AIF as Lieutenant, Sydney 16/6/15, to Egypt from 9/12/1915 inc Suez Canal Defences, to France 16/6/16 & OP's from 8/7/16 inc Bois Grenier, Fromelles, Fleurbaix & Armentieres, Captain 29/4/1917, Bombing Officer, 8th Bde, 29/7/1917, to Duty as Camp Commandant HQ, ANZAC Corps 21/12/1918, RtA & Reserve of Officers 1/1/1920. No further service. Awarded Military Cross on the basis of the following recommendation raised 21st September 1916 by Commander 8th Brigade; 'On the night of 16th September 1916, Lieutenant MacFarlane commanded a party from the 30th Bn, 8th Infantry Brigade, in a raid the enemy trenches. He display commendable gallantry, coolness and judgment, personally captured two of the enemy, and succeeded, not withstanding heavy retaliatory fire, in bringing his party back with but one casualty. The success of the operation was in a very great measure due to the zeal and energy displayed by Lieutenant 'No Man's Land' with members of his party on several nights prior to the operation'.^ On original full length ribbons. aEF. This auction also showcases the final part of a unique collection of KING EDWARD VIII comprising more than 1900 items offered in some 330 lots, the Dennis Hughes collection, for sale here, is probably the most comprehensive offered at auction since the famous Giordano collection sold by Spinks in 2009. The collection covers a period of more than 120 years, from the 1895 four generations medal, through Edward’s investiture in 1911, Royal Visits in the 1920s and 1930s, his much anticipated 1937 Coronation and subsequent Abdication and exile, followed by an extensive range of the very popular retrospective fantasy coins and medals produced up until 2016.
