Red-band cover carried by Hwa Yang Letter Bureau from Tientsin to Peking, annotated “wine fee as usual”, bearing on reverse Double Dragon datestamps of Tientsin (18th day, 2nd month) and Peking (19th day, 2nd month). Hwa Yang Letter Bureau operated under the auspices of the Customs Post between 1878 and 1882. Only 24 covers survived. Well preserved with clear strikes.
