On this occasion we broke up a beautiful collection of the issue "San Martín of 1917 to 1923" including all the different printings: Honeycomb watermark, without watermark and with the letters of the manufacturers Serra Bond and Wheatley Bond, "mutiple suns", "fiscal sun" and "large sun" watermarks, and also several lots of the rare 5c. forgery stamp to defraud the postal authorities (we include a circular of the Post to the post offices warning them and informing that that 5c. stamp would be withdrawn from circulation), some used covers (very rare, very few are known!). Of all the different issues we also offer scarce stamps, very notable varieties and some rarities!

EXTREMELY RARE PIECE PRINTED ON GUM: GJ.424, 1917 1c. San Martín, large block printed on a pre-printing foldover, for that reason the top stamps are PRINTED ON GUM (at least 3 completely and other 4 partially). The sheet, apart from the foldover, had a number of folds, and when unfolded there are a number of blank labels, and the stamps on gum (total or partial) are on back. Extremely rare variety, ONLY ONES KNOWN, excellent quality!

VERY RARE POSTAGE: GJ.437, 1917 12c. San Martín with VERTICAL honeycomb watermark + other values of the issue (total 18c.), franking a cover sent from Buenos Aires to Switzerland on 4/JUL/1918. The 12c. with this vertical watermark is known only on two covers, and this one is by far the most attractive, great rarity!! With certificate of Rodolfo Kneitschel.

The corresponding postage for a letter of between 151 and 200 grams was 6c.(for a letter of up to 100 grams) + 2x 3c. (2 additional rates) + 12c. registration fee, total 24c. Very fine quality, rare!
