1894 2d. olive-bistre (perf. 12½) with the error Swazielan instead of Swazieland (R.6/1) on van Gorcum newspaper wrapper cancelled squared-circle Bremersdorp/Swaziel/6 JAN 94 in black. Assen Holland arrival cds (6.2.94) on reverse. (see Van der Molen p. 36 for a comparable wrapper). This wrapper probably contained printed matter or a newspaper where the rate was 2d. for up to 4 oz. some filing folds clear of adhesive.

The envelope is franked at the UPU rate of 4d. per ½ oz, mail via Natal was slower and cheaper (4d. instead of 5d.) This being the earliest recorded date of the Bremersdorp Z.A.R....
