Panama 1853 (March 15): Prepaid Entire letter from San Francisco to Valparaiso Chile, endorsed "via Panama", presumably by privat transport to Panama, crowned "PAID AT PANAMA" in red on front, double arc "PANAMA AP 8 1853" datestamp in black and negative cachet of the San Francisco Commission House in blue on reverse. Paid with '2/-' sh. in Panama, noted in red crayon on front. A fine cover.

"Port au Prince" despatch cds below (June 10) in black with reverse showing "St. Thomas" arrival (June 14). Slight staining to the entire and ironed crease well away from the adhesive but a scarce entire Scott A55.
