1855: Perkins Bacon 1 d. dark green, used with 1856/58 Adelaide printing 2 d. red and 1 s. orange in a horizontal pair, margins large to just shaved in places, used on 1858 piece cancelled in black. Reverse with of piece with 'Manchester' arrival cds (Aug 9, 1858). A delightful three colour mixed issue usage. Ex collection Mursell Gi = £ 1'500+.

Reverse, one side flap missing, with 'G.P.O. / South Australia' datestamp in black. A wonderful stamp on a charming and scarce cover.

1867: Imperforate Plate Proof for the 4 d. value, printed in claret on thick card paper, a block of eighteen (6 x 3), marginal from right of sheet, of lovely rich colour with large margins all round and irregularly separated at base with last stamp just touched, vertical crease between first and second rows and in large sheet margin; however a superb and spectacular multiple and the largest recorded.

Departmentals 1868/74: Group 100+ primarily used Departmentals with the typical quality of these issues and a large variety of overprints incl. "C.S." Chief Secretary in black on 5 d., perf. 12 x rouletted, "S.T." Superintendent of Telegraphs in black on 6 d. dull-blue rouletted. A varied and interesting lot with cancellation interest, the majority of the stamps rated R-2R by Butler.

1856/57: Perkins Bacon Die Proofs on card paper (4), reprinted from the rejected Die of the 6 d. value without inscriptions, the central vignette carefully inserted, four examples in varying sizes but showing the engine turning fancy surround on each, printed in carmine, deep green, scarlet and orange-vermilion. Scarce and most attractive.
