1857/63: 1 d. rose-red, die II, alph. III, KJ, tied by '183' numeral to a compl. issue of 'THE LONDON ILLUSTRATED NEWS' from "JOHNSTONE FE 13 1858" to New York. The newspaper bears the red tax stamp which was only valid for Inland postage, but not for foreign destination, so it had to be prepaid with a postage adhesive stamp. Very fresh condition and an unusual destination for a newspaper.
