Ex Surplus specimens supplied to GPO for forwarding to UPU. Rare.

1940 (June 6th) cover to Rhode Island, USA, franked 2½d Sheep, tied P.S double ring c.d.s, originally sealed with tape on the left & then secured by a fine strike of the P.O Crown h/stamp, this was first introduced in 1906 and its primary use was for sending mail bags. Unusual late use. (1)
