Confederacy, Charleston, S.C., 1861, 5¢ blue. Two huge margins, touched on others, bright and fresh, tied by "Charleston S.C. Nov 4 1861" cds on cover addressed to Col. Montgomery Moses at Sumter S.C.; flap and tiny edge tear, reduced slightly at top, Very Fine.
Scott No. 16X1; $2,500.

These lithographed stamps were printed on white wove paper by Walker, Evans & Co. of Charleston in August 1861, per order of Postmaster Huger.
