Macao, 1841 (23 Apr.) "Eastern Expedition" officer's entire letter from Colonel Edwards, Macao to Somersetshire, England via London (11.10) endorsed "Ship Letter" showing "New Romney/India Letter" framed h.s. on reverse, rated "8", very fine and rare Eastern Expedition letter. Letter recounts that the writer cannot ask for home leave as the Expedition is expected to "move northward with the next monsoon" and that he had just come a few days before from Hong Kong to Macao apparently for a short holiday.
