New York, N.Y., 1845, 5¢ black on blue (Scott 9X2), position 9, large margins all around except touching at upper left, tied by arced red PAID on 1847 docketed folded letter addressed to Boston, matching PAID and NEW-YORK 5 cts town mark, crisp impression on deeply blued paper; folded letter with light vertical and horizontal folds, the vertical one passes under the top of the stamp which has light toning from the gum, a Very Fine usage, ex-Frelinhuysen, Lapham, with 2012 P.F. certificate.
