1847: Washington 10 c. black, a superb large margined example used on 17 June 1848 entire letter with Printed Prices Current mailed from Charleston, SC to Greenock, Scotland, tied by manuscript pen marking in blue and by British "1/-" due marking upon receipt in black. Cover franked for above 300 mile rate to New York, carried on Cunard Stewamer 'Arcadia' with "America / Liverpool" arrival datestamp (July 5) on reverse.
