1850 (Jan 1): 2 d. greyish blue, Plate I, early impression, a fine four margined example with slight stains from the original gum in left margin, used on January 1, 1850 entire letter from Sydney (internally dated January 1st, 1849) to a Mr. Antill in Picton tied by mute obliterator in black. Reverse with faint backstamp (Jan 1) and manuscript "Picton / 2nd January 1850" written upon receipt by the Picton Postmaster. An astonishing and historical entire with the adhesive used on First Day of Issue. Unique. Signed Holcombe. Cert. BPA (1975).
