1854 Lithographed 1a. red, early stage of Die I, used on folded letter (part inside missing) from Lahore to Calcutta in 1855, tied by numeral "158" and 'Stamped' in m/s, with "LAHORE/16 (reversed)/OCT/1855" despatch cds in red, "TOO LATE" h/s in black and Calcutta 2nd Delivery '8 NOV 1855' cds in red on the reverse. A fine stamp of fresh colour and with four margins, letter has been opened roughly with a tear into top of front but still fine appearance, and attractive.
