1854 Lithographed 4a. blue & red, 4th printing, along with 2a. green horizontal pair on part cover (front and one back-flap) 1855 from Calcutta to England 'P: Steamer "Bengal" and Southampton', tied by "B/1" octagonal numeral h/s in black, the pair also by boxed "INDIA/PAID" in red, red "PAID/AR/21 DE 21/1855" British transit cds on front, '8 Nov 1855' despatch cds and blue arrival datestamps on the reverse. The 4a. adhesive cut square with almost complete framelines, the 2a. pair with close to wide margins around and parts of outer frame-lines, fresh and fine, the part cover slightly stained and a central vertical fold. An attractive franking.
