1817 Entire letter from Salisbury, Hamshire to Serampore, DANISH SETTLEMENT in India via London and Calcutta, carried as India Packet Letter by E.I.C. ship "Lord Castlereagh", bearing '8 AP 1817" English Crown d/s in black, London transit cds and rectangular framed "KING'S POST.e/Co's INL.d d.o/(3rd) 181(7 Sept)" Calcutta ship letter d/s (Giles SR7) + date in m/s on front and back, resp., charged 3/6d (= 1r8a.) which has been collected by the E.I.C. (East India Company) from the addressee, and 2d. they paid as Captains fee. A VERY EARLY AND SCARCE LETTER TO THE DANISH SETTLEMENT IN INDIA. Ex Dietrich.
