Auction 338 has 3,450 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $30 to $80,000 so there's something for everybody. This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are nearly 300 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 107-382) and almost 600 lots of World collections (Lots 383-898).

Following on there is over 800 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 935-1636). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a First Watermark £2 Black & rose, constant variety 'Kangaroo with broken tail'. Superb fresh MLH appearance (expertly regummed), excellent centring. SG 16(var) cat £6500+ plus premium for variety. ACSC 55A(V)e cat $14,500. The key Kangaroo stamp & desirable with variety.(Lot 957). There are almost 1,700 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 1637-3450) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a Great Britain 1882-1901 IR OFFICIAL opt QV £1 brown-lilac, wmk 3 crowns.

Superb M, original gum bit disturbed at top of hinge removal, excellent centring & nice original colour. SG Spec L9, SG O11 cat £75,000 & much under-catalogued compared to non-official opt issues. Great rarity of GB philately with less than 30 M/UN examples recorded, of which most of the others are no gum, regummed or with faults. This original gum example is definitely one of the best quality examples known.
