lot # 1210 - 2: U.S. Stamps 1861-1866 issue
1862, 5¢ red brown (Scott 75), o.g., hinged, unbelievably fresh example of the true red brown shade; a pristine mint example with sumptuous rich color and deeply etched impression; how this stamp has survived the last 150+ years in this marvelous state is hard to imagine; "trace" of a tiny crease along the bottom right corner keeps this stamp from being a true condition rarity, otherwise Fine to Very Fine.
Scott $5,750.
Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
