The Harold B. Nogle Collection of the Origins and Progression of Plate Number Singles, Imprint Strips and Plate Blocks. A single owner collection of over 1300 lots of United States and Possessions.
Every so often a collections comes our way that inspires us in the way it had inspired the collector. The Nogle collection is one that meets this criterion. By far, one of the most complete collections formed by plate number, in every format that was available: singles, pairs, strips, blocks and sheets. Missing only a scant few, some of which may not even exist today, Harold's determination for completeness and his passion for collecting was certainly unparalleled.
Note that Harold left no stone unturned in his quest for one of every plate number. It was a sheer delight reviewing this extensive holding and better yet in our quest to bring it back to the marketplace so that many others could share the journey and excitement of finding items for their collections, as did Harold. Even the most advanced plate number collector will find something of interest. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did in presenting it. Happy hunting!
