Lithographed by Thomas Ham 1851 (June): Half-Length 1 d. dull red, Fourth State, a fine used example with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base, used on 1852 cover, no side flaps, from Melbourne to Edinburgh, Scotland tied by '1/V' obliterator of Melbourne for local rate, charged '8' (pence) in manuscruipt for the Ship Letter fee on arrival. Reverse with 'Ship Letter / Melbourne' in red (June 8) and London and Edinburgh datestamps (Nov 28). File fold away from adhesive, a scarce usage.
