Auction 330 has 4,130 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $30 to $80,000 so there's something for everybody.

 

This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There over 300 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 1-318) and well over 500 lots of World collections (Lots 319-874). Following on there are over 1000 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 889-1894). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a C of A Watermark £2 Black & rose Ash imprint blk of 4, inc variety "open mouth Kangaroo at LR". Stamps 3MLH/1MUH, upper stamps F-VF, lower pr & imprint superb, nice deep colours. SG 138 cat £16,500+ as M singles alone! ACSC 58Bz cat $75,000. Major rarity & spectacular item! Lot 1116). There are almost 2,000 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 1895-3880) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by GB1882-1901 IR OFFICIAL opt QV £1 brown-lilac, wmk 3 crowns. Superb M, original gum bit disturbed at top of hinge removal, excellent centring & nice original colour. SG Spec L9, SG O11 cat £75,000 & much under-catalogued compared to non-official opt issues. Great rarity of GB philately with less than 30 M/UN examples recorded, of which most of the others are no gum, regummed or with faults. This original gum example is definitely one of the best quality examples known. Provenance is ex the famous collections of Arthur Hind & of King Carol of Romania. 1987 RPSL photo-cert.(Lot 2581).
