Auction 316 has 3,778 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets.  Items range from $30 to $50,000 so there's something for everybody. 

This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are almost 250 lots of Australian Collections (LOT 85-311) and almost 300 lots of World collections (LOT 312-576).

Following on there is well over 800 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (LOTS 598-1451). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a Third Watermark £2 Black & rose. F-VF fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum, beautiful deep colour. SG 45 cat £4750 for M, should be at least double, £9500 MUH. ACSC 56A cat $17,500. The black & rose shade is much less frequently seen in mint condition than the purple-black shade, while any of he £2 values are very rare in genuine MUH condition(LOT 686).

There are over 2,300 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (LOTS 1452-3778) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a Great Britain 1840 Official QV 1d black VR, letters "RK", variety on Queen's neck due to small piece of foreign matter adhering during printing & falling off etc (we are pricing it merely as normal stamp w/o any premium for variety). Superb UN, 4 large margins. SG Spec VR1, SG V1 cat £32,000 = A$60,000. Nice example of this classic rarity. 2015 BPA photo-cert(LOT 2324).

In the Pacific Region is the New Zealand 1931-40 Arms 35/- orange-yellow, single wmk Cowan paper. Superb fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum, excellent centring & bright colour. SG F161 cat £5000 for M, should be at least double, £10,000 MUH. This is by far the rarest of the Arms issues & virtually never seen in such beautiful MUH condition -1st example we have offered. Certificate can be obtained on request (Lot 3323).
