Lot #28 - Colombia
Colombia Outgoing Mail 1810 circa. Cover (two back flaps lacking) from Cartagena to Havana, handstamped on dispatch by framed "Cartagena/De Indias./Debe." and Italic "Santa Fé" postmarks, the latter being deleted probably due to avoid confusion to identify the locality of dispatch which required the application of a due ("Debe") marking. Carried by the "Cazadón" brigantine, and the postage to be collected on receipt being 3 reales for 1½ oz....
Lot #29 - Colombia
Colombia Incoming Mail 1831, Aug. 23. Folded cover from Jamaica to Bogotá, carried by the war frigate "Primrose" as indicated at lower left, with fine strikes of "Yslas" (denoting mail coming from the Caribbean region) & "Deve" straight-line handstamps applied in transit at Cartagena de Indias. The finest of only five letters reported with the "Yslas" postmark; this also represents the latest usage recorded. Ex Santa María.
Lot #30 - Colombia
Colombia Transit Mail 1800 circa. Cover (slightly reduced at left) from Spain to Guatemala, carried via Corunna, showing "España." straight-line handstamp (Kouri type XII) of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia). Ex Camino.

The earliest recorded cover bearing any of the extensively applied "Islas De Barlovento" postmarks, further enhanced by being the earliest...
Lot #33 - Cuba
Cuba Outgoing Mail 1782 circa. Folded cover from Havana to Lima, leaving Cuba after the application of red "Yndias" straight-line handstamp, charged on destination with "5" reales as per double rate.
