One cover and two entire letters from Astaffort and Paris to Havana, of which two carried via England with corresponding c.d.s., struck on arrival with "NE" blue marking of the "Empresa" and rated at 2 reales, the third conveyed via Bordeaux with black incomplete "E" within circle and "NE" handstamps on arrival. A scarce trio.

France 1838, May 23. Entire letter from Astaffort (France) to Havana, carried via Bordeaux with involvement of a British packet via London, struck on front and reverse with "Empresa" markings including "E" within oval and "NE" with inverted "N" (P.E. 41 & 60). A rare destination in this early period carried through the Cuban "Empresa de Correos Marítimos".

France 1840, June 15. Entire letter from Bordeaux to Havana (Cuba), sent as a prepaid (3 décimes) French ship letter on board the "Joven Emilia" (this being apparently a Spanish ship), with framed "P.P." and dispatch c.d.s. in red, charged on arrival at 4 reales for the double weight, with neat strike of "E./NE" marking for "Empresa/Norte Europa" of the "Empresa de Correos Marítimos". Some wrinkles and usual ink erosions. This "Empresa"...

Two covers from Astafort to Havana and from Aurillac to Cienfuegos (other destinations than Havana and Santiago are very scarce), both carried via Bordeaux and showing red framed "P.P.", with application at Havana of the scarce "Empresa/N. Europa" c.d.s. in blue, and rated at single 2 reales rate with corresponding marking. A rare duo. Ex Kouri.

Entire letter from Paris to Havana, very probably carried (by British packet) via Liverpool and New York, with red origination c.d.s., British "Paid" transit c.d.s., and yellow strikes on arrival including "2" and "Empresa/N. Europa" c.d.s. (P.E. 62). Usual aging found in incoming mail to Cuba. A desirable cover with involvement of the "Empresa" and its rare "N. Europa" c.d.s.
