Kelleher auctions, America’s oldest philatelic auction firm, proudly announces their Fall 2017 sale to be conducted at the firm's new Hong Kong offices located at 1802 Perfect Industrial Building, 31 Tai Yau Street, San Po Kong, Hong Kong on November 17-18, 2017. The two day sale will feature over 800 lots.
Day one consists of stamps, postal history and collections of China, from the Municipal Posts through the Imperial issues and continuing on through the Republic era, Provinces, Occupations, Taiwan and the People's Republic .
Day two consists of non-China areas of Asia, including Japan, Indochina, Korea, Laos,Thailand and Vietnam.
Our current auction will be held 17-18 November 2017 in Hong Kong. The two day sale will feature over 800 lots.
Day one consists of China, including stamps, postal history and collections, ranging from Imperial issues including Local Posts through Republic issues, Taiwan and the People's Republic.
Day two consists of Hong Kong, including specialized sections of cancellations and Treaty Ports, followed by Japan and other Asia countries.
Important note: the buyer's premium for this sale is now 20%. However there is a 2% discount from the hammer price if payments reach us within 15 days after the sale date.

Hong Kong, 1899 (May 13), 10¢ Queen Victoria, cancelled Hong Kong (Webb Type G, Index letter "S" variety), lovely stamp showing bold, clear cancel with Index "S", Very Fine+.

Little is known for sure about this; Webb, on page 92, calls it an "unexplained variety." Whatever the case, an exceptionally rare cancel, possibly used to cancel mail collected from letterboxes .

Hong Kong, 1902 (Feb. 28), 5¢ yellow Queen Victoria, cancelled "Official Paid Hong Kong", nice quality stamp with bold strike of "Official—Paid/C/FE 28/02/Hong-Kong" c.d.s., Very Fine, Pearson rarity: R (less than 25 known) - but we have never seen another.

This is a variation of Webb Type C, with the month coming before the date .
