1866 Reister Essays for the 1866-67 Issue, complete set of four in brown, red, green and blue, plus an additional shade in gray blue, each with value tablets blank, fine-v.f. and rare. These essays are often attributed to the first (1866) issue. It is interesting to note however, that this unadopted design equals in size to the dimensions of the accepted design for the second (1867) issue
