Stampless envelope (archive folds) written from Bordeaux addressed to 'Albreda, Riviere de Gambie' cancelled by Bordeaux/32 date stamp in red '21st Mars 40' with boxed 'P.P.Æ in red on face, endorsed 'via Plymouth' with London/Paid transit 'Mr 23' and rated '1' in m/s with '8 ' decimes pre-paid sent on the "S.S. Cleopatra". Very rare item of incoming mail from France to Gambia.

Envelope addressed to Bathurst, Gambia bearing Great Britain SG 43, 1d rose (pair) and SG 94, 4d vermilion tied by Liverpool/466 duplex, endorsed 'per Mandingo' with hand-struck 'd 1' accountancy in red on face. Horizontal fold and a little bit toned. Very fine and rare item from Greal Britain into the Gambia.
