This special stamp auction is dedicated to WORLD RARITIES. We are proud to be able to offer worldwide unique items, but of course Philatelists with reduced budgets will find superb stamps, covers and lots as well.
From over 460 items we present here a few examples of extremly scarce stamps and covers:
Item nr. 474: SAMOA, horizontal pair 3 d. on 25 Pfg., unused without gum, right stamp without surcharge. The only recorded example of this spectacular variety. Provenance: The Marquess of Bute. Attest Scheller (2015), Attest BPSB (2004),
Item nr. 477: ITALY - SARDINIA, 2 stamps 5 c. olivegreen 1854, together with 40 c. dullrose, extremely superb franking on a small complete letter with content. The stamp 40 c. with FIRST DAY CANCELLATION "CHAMBERY 3 DEC 54", the 5 c. stamps cancelled with red "P.D." each. This letter is the only known FDC of the Sardinian 40 c. stamp. A Unique world rarity. Item nr. 475: KAMERUN, British Occupation, end June 1915. 1 d. on 10 Pfg. red, with blue overprint C.E.F. shifted to top, bottom sheet marginal from lowest row. Unmounted mint, original gum. According to Gibbs only 1 sheet of the black overprint known. In blue a discovery. Possibly the only surviving example of the 10 copies originally forming the lowest row of the sheet.
