We are pleased to announce our September 11-12 sale of Worldwide Stamps and Postal History.
You are invited to browse through this select offering representing virtually every philatelic area.
The United States selection ranges from Hawaiian Missionaries to Inverted Candles including a single and a block of four. Highlights of the Foreign section include a newly discovered and storied selection of Danzig overprints, specialized Great Britain and British Commonwealth, Germany and Colonies, Stefan Karadian's collection of Armenia, various gems of Italian philately, Newfoundland Air Post Error of Color as well as Pioneer flights including the iconic Martynside on cover to London, plus China with several "Treasures of the Republic" and unsurcharged Red Revenue. In addition, there are rarities from South America and the rest of the world.
As always there are over 130 large lots and collections, balances of estates and much more.

We are honored to present the Kaunas Collection, formed over a period of close to 40 years, with meticulous attention to errors and varieties. This collection contains many items offered for the first time for sale at public auction. The sale consists of 389 lots, with single items, blocks of four and larger multiples, including imperforate sheets of the Klaipeda issue. There are also large lots and collections, proofs and essays, with much of interest to specialists of this elusive collecting area
Cherrystone's May 8-9, 2013 Sale consists of 1625 lots, comprised of properties of various owners and estates sold by their order, with United States, Great Britain and British Commonwealth; Arnold Engel's collection of Latvian Air Post, Zona Libre collection of Peru, Russia including ex-Baughman Zemstvo covers, Postal History of the Spanish Civil War, further selections from Bruce Anderson's WWII Germany, the stock formed by Charles Russ, plus many others.
Cherrystone's March 12-14 sale consists of 1,943 lots comprised of properties of various owners and estates sold by their order, with United States, Great Britain (including a $150,000 collection offered intact) and extensive British Commonwealth.
Eivind Lund's Large-Gold collection of Classic Ecuador offered intact; Bruce Anderson's WWII Germany; important Italian Area, with Offices Abroad, Colonies and Occupation Issues.
Russia, especially Imperial Proofs and Essays, many ex-Baughman and Mikulski, offered for the first time in over forty years.
Spain and Postal History of the Spanish Civil War.

One of the highlights is the unused example of Belgian Congo 10fr green and black, center inverted. With only 5-7 reported, this legendary error is considered to be a gem of Belgian and International philately.
There are also significant collections of British Commonwealth, Italy and Colonies, Mexico, with award-winning 1886-1895 Numerals, plus South America and Asia; rarities from Russia, Switzerland with unused "Double Geneva" and many others.
Flight covers of the world include collections of India and Trans-Atlantic attempts. As always, there are 140+ Large Lots and Collections from $250 to $45,000 offered intact.
Cherrystone is proud to offer the Nikitin Collection of Zemstvo. Collected over the past 50 years by two generations of a philatelic family, the Dr. Dmitriy Nikitin collection is the culmination of extensive research of this vast and largely unexplored area of collecting. The lots presented in this auction were included in the "Postal History of Imperial Russia - Zemstvo Post" exhibit, which over the last ten years garnered Large Gold medals (Washington 2006, St. Petersburg 2007, Prague 2008) in the competitive class, and in the Championship Class (Lisbon 2010 and Yokohama 2011). In addition, the Nikitin collection was awarded special prizes by various philatelic associations and was nominated for the Grand Prix.
The main focus of the collection is on mail routes, rates and postal regulations of Zemstvo Post. Many interesting and unexpected discoveries by Dr. Nikitin, of previously unknown activities of local Russian Post are noted, based on continuous research of archival documents, were published in philatelic literature.
There are 1,650 lots of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World, properties of over 50 vendors from all over the globe. With a pre-sale estimate well above $2,500,000, the sale offers United States, British Commonwealth, Asia, Germany, Russia (highlighted by the "Inverted Levanevsky" with small "f", with pre-sale estimate of $500,000), South America, maritime mail, as well as 100+ large lots and collections including further offerings from the Charles Russ stock.
