1882 (12 Mar) envelope to Spain, marked 'via England,' bearing Cape ½d, 1d, 2d & 4d, all cancelled by '156' barred numeral, showing 'MAFETENG/BASUTOLAND' c.d.s, handstruck '2½d' in red and, on reverse, Aliwal North (13.3), Cape Town (19.3), London (12.4) & arrival d/stamps; the ½d & 2d with some perf faults at top. An attractive four-colour franking to a most unusual destination.
