1869 30c ultramarine & carmine, excellent color, centered to right, just tied at lower left corner by New Orleans Nov.9 postmark on FL to France, with "A.Carriere & Co." merchant's date stamp at left, red "New York Nov.13/24" exchange office transit (6c U.S. domestic postage and 24c credit to France for both Ocean voyage and internal fees) and octagonal French Packet No.3 and boxed "PD" alongside, endorsed "Per First Steamer", with Paris transit and Bordeaux arrival postmarks on back. The cover has a usual filing fold and small erosion, both away from the stamp, fine and rare 30c cover, with 2007 PFC, -

1869 15c brown and blue, center inverted, black cancel, fairly well centered, reperforated at bottom, otherwise fine example of this popular invert, with 2014 PFC. Of the 100 issued inverts, three are recorded unused and 96 used (one in the British Library's Tapling collection and one in the New York Public Library's Miller Collection). Only nine are confirmed as sound, this example being much better than most (usually with tears and perfs touching), -
